Battery replacement

What we actually do
A battery is a consumable. It holds less every cycle, and past a certain point the phone starts guessing at what is left — which is why a phone can read 40% and die at a red light.
We check whether the battery is actually the fault before we sell you one. A charge port that will not deliver current looks identical from the outside.
If the back is lifting or the screen is bowing, stop charging it and bring it in. A swollen cell is under pressure and it does not get better on its own.
Signs it is the battery
- Flat by early afternoon on normal use
- Shuts off suddenly with charge showing
- Only works while plugged in
- The back panel or screen is lifting
- Warm to the touch when idle
- Charge level jumps around
Worth fixing, or not?
Almost always yes, and it is one of the cheaper ways to keep a phone another year or two. The exception is a phone that is old enough for the battery to be the third thing to go.
What it costs
Prices vary from phone to phone, and by model. Posting one number here would get it wrong for most people reading it.
